Welcome to the Gimlet Brotherhood Website, Home of the Gimlet Association 21st Infantry Regiment

Welcome to the Gimlet Association 21st Infantry Regiment Website

The website is proudly dedicated to all Gimlets who have served and continue serving today. The website especially honors those Gimlets who have paid the ultimate price for peace, freedom and the American way of life.

The Gimlet Association 21st Infantry Regiment is open to all Gimlets, past and present, who saw service during peacetime or war. An “Associate Member” is a direct family member, surviving spouse/parent(s) of an active duty Gimlet who served with the 21st Infantry Regiment (Gimlet) and was Killed In Action, Missing In Action (remains not recovered), or a person (limited) who has performed above and beyond for the betterment of the association.

The purpose of the Gimlet Association is to promote Gimlet Brotherhood and Camaraderie by reuniting and honoring all Gimlets, past and present, honoring our fallen comrades for the sacrifices they made, while all work together towards preserving the proud heritage and all the rich traditions of the 21st Infantry Regiment (Gimlet).

Do your part, remain part of the Gimlet Brotherhood forever by requesting a membership packet from Gimlet  Headquarters.

You may request your membership packet electronically or by sending your request by USPS to Gimlet Association 21st Infantry National Headquarters. Electronic enrollment requests may be made by way of E-mail at: gimletmembership21@yahoo.com . Once completed return it electronically or via USPS mail to Gimletmail, PO Box 661977, Sacramento, CA  95866-1977. Direct all mail requests to GimletMembership at the Association National Headquarters. All Gimlets serving on active status and in overseas theaters of operation are automatically members of the association under Master Membership documents issued to the commander of each operational Gimlet unit to which they are assigned or attached thereto and remain so for the duration thereof.

There are no dues or fees required to join the association. The association depends upon donations for survival. Initial membership places the member in good standing in the Gimlet Association 21st Infantry. The association does request members maintain a good e-mail address so as to keep the membership updated. Once a Gimlet Brother receives a welcome letter or e-mail with an association registration number on it the new Gimlet Association member becomes a member in good standing. Once again active duty Gimlets fall under master membership documents issued to Commanders of 21st Infantry Battalions and subordinate commands until such time as individuals are released from 21st Infantry units, PCS, or leave active military service. However, an active duty Gimlet may request individual membership. Remember, if you are separating from the Army or changing units the association asks that you become an individual member so as to preserve the Brotherhood.

Bonds of Brotherhood

The Bonds of Brotherhood are eternal. Don’t lose touch with your Gimlet Brothers with which you proudly served. Only soldiers who have shared the military experience of serving together in American’s armed forces are aware of the fraternal Bonds of Brotherhood that bind them together forever. Gimlets who have endured the rigors of training for combat, sharing the trials and tribulations thereof, and then survived combat, are tied together forever by a special bond of brotherhood. Gimlets of 21st Infantry Regiment who forged those bonds with their blood, sweat and tears share that everlasting bond: Gimlet Brotherhood. There is something special about the Gimlet Brotherhood that only Gimlets share. The saying goes in the 21st Infantry Regiment (Gimlet), “Once a Gimlet, always a Gimlet.” And that is true throughout a Gimlet’s life and into death – the bond is an eternal one.

Bore Brother Bore!

To all Gimlets that served honorably with or attached operationally to the 21st Infantry Regiment (Gimlet) during peacetime or war and those who continue serving today – Bore Brother Bore!
